About Me
I am originally from Columbia, Maryland. I graduated from Atholton High School in 2024. During that time, I served as the Editor-in-Chief on The Raider Review, the student-run newspaper. I was also the president of the National English Honor Society chapter, as well as the president of the creative writing club.
Currently, I am the Ship Life Editor on The Slate. My section covers campus events as well as features on prominent figures within the community. I both write and edit for this section, as well as make weekly page layouts on Adobe InDesign. I occasionally write for the news, opinion, and arts and entertainment sections.
I am also a news writer for WSYC, where I also report on campus events. I have an ongoing space news series, as astronomy has been a life-long fascination of mine.
Beyond the world of journalism, I also have a deep passion for political science. I find the field both fascinating and incredibly important. I strive to be as educated as I possibly can, both as a citizen and a journalist.
As I progress through my program at Shippensburg University, my goal is to learn as much as possible. I want to acquire as many skills as I can while I'm here, as well as expand my network. As for career goals, I want to be a reporter and eventually work my way up to being an editor.
Outside of student media and academics, I work at the ShipRec, Shippensburg University's recreation center. In my free time, I enjoy reading, making art and exploring new places. One of my ultimate goals in life is to travel to Norway, which is where my family immigrated from a few generations ago. Hopefully my Norwegian lessons will pay off by then.
