Religious protestors come to campus, sparking a student-led counter protest

A group of religious advocates came to Shippensburg University on Wednesday afternoon, which led to a protest from SU students.
Outside of Reisner Dining Hall, nearly one hundred students could be seen protesting and arguing with members of Key of David Christian Center because of the controversial remarks made by the group.
One of the individuals on campus was Aden Rusfeldt, the pastor of the Key of David Christian Center Church. Several students reported being called slurs or other offensive t...

After 20 years of service at Shippensburg University, José Ricardo-Osorio is preparing for a new chapter.

“Project Hail Mary” restored my faith in both humanity and cinema

I walked into the movie theater to watch “Project Hail Mary” with absolutely no idea what it was about. I did not watch a single trailer. I walked in completely blind and with no expectations.
Despite having no expectations, “Project Hail Mary” easily became the best movie I have seen in a long time. It was a beautiful story about bravery, hope and friendship that left me in tears long before the credits rolled.
The movie follows Ryland Grace, a middle school science teacher that wakes up in...

One small step for man; one giant conspiracy for mankind

For the past two weeks, it seems like the only thing everyone wanted to talk about was the Artemis II mission. The idea of sending mankind to the moon once again, even if it is just orbiting before heading back to Earth, has captured the attention of the public in a way not a lot of other headlines have. Space travel has the unique ability to unite people, even in times of hardship or political instability.
Unfortunately, humanity’s latest trip to the cosmos has brought out a wave of conspiracy...

Haunted by the Heights

Abbygale Hockenberry – A&E Editor
The intro was by far my favorite scene in the entire movie. The screen is black, and we hear a person moaning. I am convinced someone is having a good time, but then I start to wonder as the sounds continue. What sounded like a noise of pleasure suddenly turned into a sound of someone being hurt. Then the camera reveals a man being hung, and it is the sound of his last moments. My jaw dropped, and I gasped out loud. I went into this film with high expectations a...

As the Flag Lowers, So Does My Pride

I am so tired of homophobia.
It is an obvious sentiment, yet it is one that does not seem to get any better with passing time. In fact, it only gets worse.
On Feb. 9, the National Park Service removed the historical rainbow flag from Christopher Park, where the Stonewall National Monument is located.

Christopher Park is across the street from The Stonewall Inn, which is credited as the birthplace of the modern gay righ...
